You've found this site's raison d'etre: annotated genealogies of the emigrant progenitors who founded the first Brooks families of New England. Of the men in the table of founders below, 13 came by 1660 — the end of the "Great Migration" era — and the remaining two before 1700. With the exception of three pair of brothers and one pair of cousins labeled below as Related, no wider or prior relationships between them are known.
An alpha-numeric ID suffix (i.e., Thomas/2c, Daniel/3s) denotes the generation of descent (where /1 is always the emigrant progenitor in New England) and the line of descent of each founder. Dual letters (/aw) indicate that two lines have intermarried.
Data for the 15 individuals below is carried at a minimum through the 4th generation in New England. Several lines of lesser population are carried beyond the 4th generation. (See the FAQ for specifics.) I follow and include daughter lines. While one can always go farther with daughter lines and spousal ancestry — I do so as I find time — and additional illustrations and documents remain to scan and upload — this phase is essentially complete.
