       Samuel/2 Bliss was born in England circa 1624.1 "... of Springfield, Mass., sixth child of Thomas and Margaret Bliss. He came to America with his father, in 1635."1 He married, 10 or 20 [dup. recs.] Nov 1665 at Springfield, Mary/2 Leonard, daughter of John/1 Leonard and Sarah Heald.2,3 At Springfield he is called Samuel Sr. in the records to distinguish him from the namesake nephew who married Sarah Stebbins.4 Samuel/2 Bliss was left the residue of his mother's estate, and named sole executor, in her will of 25 Jun 1684.5 He died at Springfield 23 Mar 1719/20.1

       Mary/2 Leonard was born 14 Sep 1647 at Springfield, MA.1 There she married, 10 or 20 [dup. recs.] Nov 1665, Samuel/2 Bliss of Springfield, son of Thomas/1 Bliss and Margaret/1 Hulins.2,3 Mary Blisse, wife of Samuel, was mentioned in her mother-in-law Margaret Hulins's will, 25 Jun 1684, and left a third of the testator's land during her widowhood should she survive her husband.4 He died 23 Mar 1719/20.5 She died in 1724.5
