Oliver/5k Brooks "m. Susan Ham of Dover, N.H., and had children, among them Rev. Elbridge Gerry Brooks."1 According to a memorial biography of his grandson, Elbridge Street Brooks, "His grandfather, Oliver Brooks, was of Eliot, Me., but who, with his wife, Susan Horne, resided in Portsmouth, N. H."2

Rev. Elbridge Gerry/6k Brooks married, 7 Nov 1839, probably at Haverhill, MA (though Cambridge records say Charlestown), Martha Fowle Munroe of Charlestown.2,3
Elbridge Gerry Brooks "was a prominent minister in the Universalist church, and one of the organizing spirits of that denomination. Later he became the first general secretary of the Universalist general convention. The elder Brooks, who had the reputation of being a fearless, upright, earnest, and eloquent preacher, received the degree of doctor of divinity from Tufts College."4
