Eliza Jane Card was born 15 Feb 1819 at Dover, NH.2,3,4 She married (1), circa 1838, Theodore Lord, son of Jotham Lord and Betsy Furbish, of Eliot, ME, with whom she had 4 children.5,1 She married (2), as his 2d wife, 14 Oct 1849, Capt. Abraham/6k Brooks of Eliot, son of Daniel/5k Brooks and Mary (Molly) Spinney.6,1,7
The 1850 census recorded Abraham Brooks (a. 41, sailor, real estate $1000), wife Eliza Brooks (a. 31), his widowed mother Mary Brooks (a. 75 [actually 80]), Leonard Spinney (a. 15, student), and Eliza's children James H. Lord (a. 11, student), and Mary Lord (a. 8, student) in the household at Eliot, next door to Abraham's brother John H. Brooks.8,5 In 1860 their Eliot household included Abraham (a. 51, farmer, r.e. $2,700, p.e. $185), Eliza (a. 40), Abraham's mother Mary (a. 85), Eliza's children James and Mary Lord, and four children ages 11 mos. to 9 years of the marriage between Abraham and Eliza.5
The 1870 census recorded Abraham (a. 61, farmer, $4,000 r.e., $400 p.e.), Elisa J. (a. 51), their children Daniel, Hattie C., Andrew P., and Elbridge, and Eliza's son James Lord (a. 31, "idiot") in their Eliot household. Abraham's brother Jeremiah Brooks lived next door, and his presumed brother Thomas G. Brooks two doors down in the opposite direction.9
Eliza died 20 Jul 1879 (g.s.), "a. 60 y. 5 m."3 Abraham died 4 Jan 1890.10 They are buried with his 1st wife in Eliot.10,11

William Remick was born in Maine circa 1819.1 He married, 17 Jun 1840 in York County, Elizabeth/6k Brooks, both of Eliot.2 Presumed to be the same William and Elizabeth Remick whose 1850 census household at Eliot included William (a. 31, carpenter, p.e. $600), Elizabeth (a. 35), and daughters Catherine (a. 6), Augusta (a. 5), and Emily (a. 2), the oldest two of these attending school.1
In 1860 their Eliot household included William (a. 40, ship carpenter, p.e. $55), Elizabeth (a. 44), and children Catharine (a. 16, domestic, student), Augusta (a. 14, domestic, student), Emily (a. 12, student), William (a. 9, student), Mary (a. 6, student), Charles (a. 4) and John (a. 2).3 In 1870 the family remained intact at Eliot.4 In 1880 the household included William (a. 60, widowed farmer) and children Mary (a. 25, single) and John (a. 22, working on the farm).5 The 1910 census recorded William (a. 90) with his unmarried daughter Mary (a. 58) in his own house at Eliot.

Prudence Hammond was born 9 Jan 1790 (g.s.).2,3 Of Kittery, ME there she married, 30 Nov 1808 (int. 6 Nov), William/5k Brooks Jr. [William III, int.] of Kittery, son of Pvt. William/4k Brooks and Mary Gowell.4 Her sister Mary married another William/5k Brooks (her husband's cousin) the following year.1

Chandler/6k Brooks, 2d so-named, was born 23 Jan 1812 at Eliot, ME (g.s.).2 Then of Eliot, he married (1), 7 Apr 1842 (int. 5 Mar, York), Sarah B. Kingsbury.1,3 The 1850 census recorded Chandler (a. 36, carpenter, no estate reported), Sarah (a. 35), and daughter Mary (a. 8, student) in their household at Kittery, ME.4 Sarah died 14 Mar 1852.5 He married (2) (int. 18 Nov 1856, Kittery) Sally A. Thompson of York.1,6 He died at Kittery 9 Sep 1890 (g.s.) at age 78.2 There his widow died 2 May 1908.7 He is buried with both wives in Eliot.8
