       Mary/4 Bliss was born 21 Oct 1710 at Springfield, MA.1 There she married (1), 16 Jun 1731, Jonathan/4 Sikes, son of Increase/3 Sikes and Mary Knowlton.1,2 There he died 19 Sep 1733.2 There she married (2), 8 Nov 1734 (int. 27 Sep), Joseph/3s Brooks, son of Benjamin/2s Brooks and Mary/3 Barnard, with whom she had 8 or more children.3,4 Of Palmer, Ware, and Kingsfield, he died at Ware, MA, 27 Nov 1750 at age 40.5 Among his probate papers is an order naming widow Marey Brooks custodian of Silas, Jonathan, Cloe, Eunice, Ann and Thankful, all under the age of 14.6

       Noah/3s Brooks was born 24 Jan 1714.1,2 He married (1), 8 Oct 1741 (c.r., Springfield, MA; int. 12 Sep, S.), Keziah Bartlett, with whom he had 3 children.3,4 She died at Springfield 3 Oct 1745.5,6 There he married (2), 11 Jun 1755 (int. 17 May), Hannah/4 Spencer, daughter of Disborough/3 Spencer and Abigail Elmer, thrice widowed, most recently of Pelatiah/3 Glover III, and about 9 years older than he.7,8 She died 6 Jan 1782.9 He died at Springfield 16 Jan 1782 at age 67.10

       Hannah/4 Spencer was baptised 28 Jan 1704/5 at Hartford, CT.1 There she married (1), 1729, Henry Nicholson, who died at Hartford in 1739.2 She married (2) (–?–) Burt.2 She married (3) (int. 31 Mar 1749, Springfield, MA) Pelatiah/4 Glover Jr., son of Pelatiah/3 Glover and Hannah/2 Parsons.2 Widowed once more, she married (4), 11 Jun 1755 (int. 17 May) at Springfield, as his 2d wife, Noah/3s Brooks, son of Benjamin/2s Brooks and Mary/3 Barnard, and 9 years younger than she.3,4 She died 6 Jan 1782 (1st Ch. rec., Springfield).5
     "My information on the ancestry and marriages of Hannah (Spencer) (Nicholson) (Burt) Glover) Brooks came from a scholarly article in "The American Genealogist" by Jean (Nicholson) Maack. I also corresponded with Jean several years ago and have copies of the key primary sources that she used to decipher this complex case," says Perry Streeter.2
