Mary Pratt, Abigail Hall, Ruth Secomb, Sarah, Increase, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Ebenezer."10 "He was administrator of his father's estate, dated May 16, 1766, and his discharge is signed by Ebenezer, Thomas, Samuel Nathan Cheever, Thomas Oakes, Samuel, Rebecca Pratt. This makes all the children then living, but Mary."11 He died at Medford 21 Nov 1766 at age 72.12 Buried with both wives in Salem Street Cemetery, Medford.3 Seccomb's Journal records, "Nov 30 1766. Funeral sermon for Capt. Caleb Brooks, who died of a cancer in the face the 28th. of Nov."13
"He built at the time of his marriage, the house at Symmes corner, now [1855] called the Burket house, and there he lived and died. This homestead was inherited by his eldest son Ebenezer, and is still in the possession of the heirs of his daughter Mary. (M.S. Letter of Gersham Brooks Esq.)."13 His widow Ruth died at Medford 6 May 1793.14
"His homestead, called the Bosquet House, the birthplace of Gov. John Brooks (in that part of Winchester formerly a part of Medford), was removed by Marshall Symmes in 1882."15
Caleb Brooks was the surveyor chosen by a committee of Woburn townsmen, 1739, to assist them in laying out the town's last extensive division of common land.16 Annette Anderson says he raised a force for service in Canada in 1745.17
