       Daniel/3s Brooks was born 25 Mar 1722 at Deerfield, MA.1 A soldier from Deerfield "in both French wars."2,3 He married, 19 Sep 1754, Mary Wright.4,3 He settled by 1760 in that part of Deerfield which later became Greenfield, where his name appears on a tax list of 1775.5 His 1790 census household at Greenfield included two males over 16 and two females.6

       Daniel/4s Brooks Jr. was born 22 Mar 1759 at Northfield, MA.2,1 Then resident in that part of Greenfield which was to be set off to Gill in 1793, he married, 27 Aug 1789 at Northfield (int. 19 Jul, Greenfield), Levina Morgan of Northfield, daughter of Pvt. Noah Morgan and Mercy (–?–).3,4 His death is not of record. She died his widow, 1 Jun 1843 at Gill, "a. 81."5
     "There were four burying grounds in [Gill]…One in the north west was originally on the farm of Daniel Brooks and the ground therefore was bought by the Town of Mr. Brooks for $4 in 1802."6
