       Joseph/4a Brooks Jr. was born 16 Oct 1710 at Concord, MA.1 There he married, 22 Feb 1738/39, Esther Durant of Billerica, daughter of John Durant and Elizabeth Jaquith.2,3 Mentioned in his father's will, 4 May 1746.4 They removed to Littleton, thence to Temple, NH.5

Gravestone of Capt. Daniel/4 Adams, Lincoln, MA. (Farber Gravestone Collection)
       Capt. Daniel/4 Adams was born 3 Jan 1690 at Cambridge, MA.3,4 He settled by 1715 at Concord "where the tavern in the south part of Lincoln now [1832] stands."5 He married (1), 23 Apr 1715 at Concord, in a ceremony performed by the bride's father, Elizabeth/4a Minot of Concord, daughter of Dr. James/3 Minot and Rebecca/3a Wheeler, with whom he had 8 children.6,7 She died at Lincoln 12 Nov 1764.8,9 He married (2), 30 Oct 1765 at Lincoln (int. 4 Oct, Weston), Hannah (–?–) of Weston, widow of Dr. John Binney.10 She died at Lincoln 11 Jun 1776.11 There he died 9 Feb 1780 at age 90, and was buried.6,12,13 His will was proved later that year.14
     "Capt. Daniel Adams lived in the south part of Lincoln, then within the limits of Concord, on the road from Waltham to Stow…" "He was the son of Joseph, and grandson of John Adams, one of the eight sons of Henry of Quincy." (He was thus a 2d cousin, once removed, to President John Adams).1 Concord selectman, 1736-38.15
     Says Shattuck, "They had [8 children], whose descendants live in Lincoln, Boston, Townsend, and Keene, many of whom have been eminent physicians."5
