       Tilley/2 Merrick was born 20 Oct 1667 at Springfield, MA.1,2 There he married (1), 6 Sep 1694, Sarah/3 Cooley of Springfield, daughter of Obadiah/2 Cooley and Rebecca Williams, with whom he had 5 children.4,5 He married (2) Elizabeth/4 Wilder of Lancaster, daughter of Ephraim/3 Wilder and Elizabeth Stevens, with whom he had 3 children.6,7 His will, dated 13 Mar 1732 at Brookfield, and proved 10 May following, bequeaths to wife Elizabeth "the full of what the law of this province for widdows made & provided for"; to daughter Elizabeth, £500 at age 21; to son Tilly, the residue of his estate both real and personal; widow Elizabeth and father-in-law Ephraim Wilder of Lancaster to be executors. Witnesses: Nathanael Banchraft, Ebenezer Cook, Christopher Fowler.7 His widow married (2), 9 Oct 1735, Col. James/4a Minot of Concord.8,9
