Moses Symonson

Moses Symonson was born in Leyden, Holland.1 He sailed on the Fortune, Thomas Barton, master, from London in about August 1621, arriving at Cape Cod on 9 Nov, and settled at Plymouth, as did the entire company of passengers.2,1 Duxbury freeman lists include Moyses Symonson (1646) and Moses Simons (1670), although the latter may be a son of the former.3 Deane's Hist. Scituate includes one Moses Simons in a list of allowed and approved inhabitants granted land in 1673, though this may be a son or even grandson of the emigrant.4

William/1 Carpenter

William/1 Carpenter took the oath of office as constable of Weymouth, MA, for the year ensuing, 28 Jan 1640/41.1 Deputy to the colony's General Court of June, 1641.2 He was a freeman of Rehoboth, MA, 1643.3 His name is found on a list dating from about 1643 of the town's first purchasers, his allotment valued at £254-10-0.4 One of 58 men drawing lots for a division of the woodland between the plain and the town, 30 Jun 1644.5 Listed in the 1645 register of Rehoboth landowners.6 There he died 7 Feb 1658/59.7
