       Hannah/3k Brooks was born in York County, ME.2,1 She married (1), 28 Mar 1743 at Biddeford, both of Biddeford, Thomas Pennell.3 Widowed, there she married (2), 12 Apr 1748, David Martin.2

       David Martin married, as her 2d husband, 12 Apr 1748 at Biddeford, ME, Hannah/3k Brooks, daughter of Lt. Robert/2k Brooks and Sarah Sawyer, and widow of Thomas Pennell.1 "He removed to Buxton, then Narragansett, No. 1, as early as 1752, and signed a call for a proprietors' meeting that year. He settled on lot 2, range B, first division, and 'Martin's swamp' and 'Martin's gully' took their names from him. Two children's births were found on the margin of the proprietors' records."1

       Isaiah/3k Brooks was born in 1736 at Biddeford, ME.2 Of Buxton, he married, 14 Jul 1769 (Buxton c.r.), Sarah Burnham.3 "In 1769 the proprietors granted a mill privilege on the Saco River at Salmon Falls to Dea. John Nason, Capt. John Elden, Isaiah Brooks, and Jabez Lane. This company built a double saw-mill and grist-mill, and the proprietors soon after gave them a deed of four acres of land which embraced the mills. There were three grist-mills and no less than three saw-mills in operation in town as early as 1772, and it was no longer necessary to carry the corn on the shoulder to Saco for grinding, or to build dwelling-houses of logs."4
     Isaiah Brooks, resident in Buxton, served in the Revolutionary War.2 Recorded at Buxton in the 1790 census (as were Robert and Samuel Brooks, perhaps his sons). Isaiah's household included himself and two other males over 16, two males under 16, and three females.5 He died at Buxton (c.r.) in 1819.6,2
