       Sarah/3 Burt was born 4 Sep 1656 at Springfield, MA.3,1 There she married (1), 22 Apr 1675, Benjamin/2 Dorchester of Springfield, son of Anthony/1? Dorchester and Martha Chapman, with whom she had a son.4,5 There he died 24 May 1676.6 There she married (2), 14 Feb 1676/77, Capt. Luke/2 Hitchcock Jr.7,8,9 He died 27 Jan 1726/27.10 She died at Springfield 9 [town rec; 8, c.r.] Nov 1746.10

       Capt. Luke/2 Hitchcock Jr. was born 5 Jun 1655 at Wethersfield, CT.1,2 Of Springfield, MA there he married, as her 2d husband, 14 Feb 1676/77, Sarah/3 Burt, daughter of Dea. Jonathan/2 Burt and Elizabeth/2 Lobdell, and widow of Benjamin Dorchester.3,4,5 He died 27 Jan 1726/27 (g.s.) at age 71.1 Buried in Pine Street Cemetery, Springfield.1
     "Luke Hitchcock from Springfield, son of Luke of New Haven, was a voter, and was chosen sealer of leather at the first [Suffield] town meeting; did not remain, if indeed he settled here at all. He was Sheriff of Hampshire. He was also a petitioner, and one of the committee for settling the town of Sheffield, Mass., 1722. He died January 24, 1727."6
