       Martha/4h Brooks was born 26 Mar 1738 at Haddam, CT.¹ There she married, 27 Jul 1756, David Smith.²

       Porter/4h Brooks was born 12 Sep 1755 at Haddam, CT.¹ There he married, Sep 1776, Elizabeth Clark, with whom he had 9 children at Haddam.² Their 1790 census household included Porter, two males under 16 (probably sons Samuel and Porter), and six females (wife Elizabeth and daughters, Martha, Susanna, Elizabeth, Fanny and Lucretia).³

       Lt. Samuel/4h Brooks was born 14 May 1730 at Haddam, CT.¹ He married Dorothy Smith, daughter of David Smith and Dorothy/3 Brainerd.² Perhaps the S.B. appointed, 17 Mar 1756, as 2d lieutenant, 3d regiment, 3d company (Capt. John Patterson), in the Connecticut forces raised for the Crown Point expedition.³ Included in a 1775 list of Haddam residents employed in the Continental service in 1775, who under a law passed in December of that year were exempted from the payment of certain taxes to the state.⁴ Perhaps the Samuel whose 1790 census household at Haddam included himself, two other males over 16, and five females.⁵ He died at Haddam 12 Mar 1816 at age 85.²

       Susanna/4h Brooks was born 1 Aug 1732 at Haddam, CT.¹ She married, 28 Aug 1755 at Middletown, Moses Freeman of Middletown.²
