       John/1 Stockbridge was born in England about 1607 or 8.1,2 There he married Anne (–?–).1,2 John Stockbridge, 27, Mrs. Anne Stockbridge, 21, and Charles Stockbridge, 1, embarked, 17 Jun 1635, on the Blessing of London, John Leicester, master, for Boston. The family settled at Scituate.1,3
     "Goodman Stockbridge" ye wheeler" (wheelwright) had a house at Scituate by 1636.2 His will, dated Boston, 4 Sep 1657, leaves son Charles his "water-mill at Scituate—house, ground and orchard belonging to it."4 John/1 Stockbridge died at Boston 13 Oct 1657.5
