       William Oliver/6k Brooks was born in Maine circa Jul 1828.3,2 There recorded (a. 22, joiner) in his parents' household at Eliot in the 1850 census.2 A ship carpenter of Eliot, he married, as her 1st husband, 24 May 1858, Mary Jane/6 Sinclair of Stratham, NH, daughter of Samuel/5 Sinclair and Elizabeth Lane.3,1 He died 23 [26, Sinclair] Jun 1879 (g.s.), "aged 50 yrs. 11 mos."3,4 His widow married (2) William Hill, a widower of Eliot.3 William O. Brooks is buried with their daughter in Eliot, ME.5 Mary Jane is buried in the same Eliot cemetery with her 2d husband.6

       Mary Jane/6 Sinclair was born 29 Sep 1832 at Stratham, NH.1 She married (1), 24 May 1858, William Oliver/6k Brooks, a ship carpenter of Eliot, ME, son of William/5k Brooks and Prudence Hammond.1,2 He died 23 Jun 1879.1,3 She married (2), as his 2d wife, William Hill, a widower of Eliot.1 She died 21 Mar 1900 (g.s.) at age 67.4 William Hill died 27 Nov 1902 (g.s.) at age 81.5 Mary Jane is buried with her 2d husband and his 1st wife in Eliot.6

       Lizzie Augusta/7k Brooks was born 7 Aug 1859.1 Her mother died before 1900, when "d. in law" (stepdaughter) Lizzie A. Brooks (a. 40, single) and farmhand Edison Junkins were recorded in the Eliot, ME, household of William Hill (a. 79, widowed, farmer), her mother's 2d husband.2
