Capt. Timothy/4w Brooks was born 14 Feb 1699/0 at Woburn, MA.1 There he married (1), 19 Jan 1725, Abigail/3 Wyman of Woburn, daughter of Lt. Seth/2 Wyman and Esther/3 Johnson.2 Named in his father's will, 6 Aug 1726.3 He was quartermaster of the Woburn Military Company, 1738, lieutenant in 1744, and captain from 1746 to his death in 1786.4 His wife Abigail died at Woburn 16 Mar 1780.5 He married (2), 30 Mar 1781, Sarah Evans, daughter of Nathaniel Evans and Abigail To_____, and widow of Josiah/4 Converse.6,7 He died at Woburn 13 Oct 1786 at age 86.8 His widow Sarah died there 22 Feb 1789.7

Nathan/4w Brooks was born 1 Nov 1706 at Woburn, MA.1 He married (1), by 1727, Sarah/3 Wyman, daughter of Cornet Jonathan/2 Wyman and Hannah/3 Fowle.1 Mentioned in his father's will, 6 Aug 1726.2 His wife died at Woburn 21 Feb 1747.3 He married (2), perhaps 18 Mar 1749, Elizabeth/4 Fowle, daughter of Jacob/3 Fowle and Mary Broughton, and a 1st cousin of his previous wife.4 He died at Woburn 6 Jan 1751 at age 44.5 He is buried with his 1st wife in the First Burial Ground.6
Three of his children—John, William and Sarah—removed to Hollis, NH ca 1757, while his son Jonathan removed to New London, CT.7

Nathaniel/2p Brooks was baptised 29 Mar 1646 at the Second Church, Scituate, MA.2,1 He married, 24 Dec 1678 at Scituate, Elizabeth/2 Curtis of S., daughter of Richard/1 Curtis and Ann Hallett. Their siblings Miriam Brooks and John Curtis also married.3,4 Nathaniel is mentioned in the will of his father William Brooks, 6 Mar 1682/83.5 He signed for sale of property by mark.6 Admitted freeman of Scituate 1 Jun 1689.7 14 March 1693/4, "Nathanaell Brooks of Sittuate being true heir to William Brooks deceased having certain knowledge that my father William Brooks in the time of his life did really sell to John Wheston now deceased eight acres of land," confirms the sale.5 Admitted to full communion in the Second Church, 6 Jan 1716/17, aged 71 years.8 He succeeded to his father's residence (as would five consecutive Nathaniels following), and is [1831] the ancestor of all those with this surname at Scituate, says Deane.9,10

Elizabeth/2 Curtis was born 12 Jan 1651 at Scituate, MA, and there baptised, with her sister Anna, 4 Jul 1652 at the Second Church.3 There she married, 24 Dec 1678, Nathaniel/2p Brooks of Scituate, son of William/1p Brooks and (–?–) (–?–). Their siblings Miriam Brooks and John Curtis also married.4,5 Daughter Elizabeth Brook, w. Nathaniel, is mentioned in the will of Richard Curtis, 1692.6

Nathaniel/3p Brooks was born in Aug 1693 at Scituate, MA.1 In 1717 he purchased lands of Michael Wanton, the Quaker teacher, and built upon them a house still standing on Main Street, Norwell, in 1936. Deane described the location, in 1831, as "a half mile west of Hoop-pole hill, where the fifth Nathaniel Brooks now resides."
In 1723 Nathaniel bought another property in South Scituate (now Norwell), about which descendant Steve Ivas writes in Dec 1999, "My son, who is 11½, goes to school on a property (White Oak Plain) that Nathaniel Brooks the 2nd (of seven) purchased in 1723. It stayed in the family until the 1930s, when it was transferred to the Town by William Penn Brooks, president of the University of Massachusetts."3,4,5

Richard/1 Curtis's name is found in a 1643 list of men able to bear arms at Scituate, MA.1 He married (1), by 1649, Ann Hallett, daughter of John Hallett.2,3 At Scituate, he was on a list of those who took the oath of fidelity, 1668; and on a list of allowed and approved inhabitants granted land, 1673.4 He married (2) Lydia (–?–).5 Admitted freeman of Scituate 1 Jun 1689.6 There he died 15 Oct 1693.7 His will, 1692, provides for 2d wife Lydia; sons John and Thomas; and daughters Ann, Elizabeth Brook, w. Nathaniel, Mary Badcocke, and Martha Clark, w. Thomas. His two youngest daughters are unmentioned, and probably predeceased him.5
"9 March 1702/03 In accordance with a discussion taken on 5 April 1683 to equalize the distribution of land among the ancient inhabitants who were ratable in 1647, or their successors, the committee … further made grants of various specified acreage, as additions to the great lots to lie outside the stated common[Lands], to the successors of ... Richard Curtis ..."8
Deane concatenates the two wives into one "Lydia Hollett."9

Mary Taylor was born 10 Jun 1696 at Scituate, MA.1 There she married, 27 Nov 1717, Nathaniel/3p Brooks Jr. of Scituate, son of Nathaniel/2p Brooks and Elizabeth/2 Curtis, with whom she had 9 children.2 Her name appears on a list of Second Church members, 13 Nov 1751.3 He died 14 Jan 1764 (g.s.).4,5 Her death is unrecorded.
