William/3p Brooks was born in Jul 1683 at Scituate, MA, and there baptised 5 Jul 1685 at the Second Church.1,2
His wife may have been a daughter of William Taylor.3 The latter, 1748, willed his York County, ME farm to his three daughters. The same year, Mary Brooks (w. of Nathaniel [William's brother]), William Brooks and Mercy Wright, spinster, all of Scituate, were deeded as heirs of our father William Taylor, who formerly lived in Arundel, ME.3
Savage says William Brooks left numerous descendants. Says Deane [1831], "William's posterity remain on the ancient seat of the family."4,5
