       Elizabeth/6k Brooks was born in Maine circa 1815.2 She married, 17 Jun 1840 in York County, William Remick, both of Eliot.3 Presumed to be the same William and Elizabeth Remick whose 1850 census household at Eliot included William (a. 31, carpenter, p.e. $600), Elizabeth (a. 35), and daughters Catherine (a. 6), Augusta (a. 5), and Emily (a. 2), the oldest two of these attending school.2
     In 1860 their Eliot household included William (a. 40, ship carpenter, p.e. $55), Elizabeth (a. 44), and children Catharine (a. 16, domestic, student), Augusta (a. 14, domestic, student), Emily (a. 12, student), William (a. 9, student), Mary (a. 6, student), Charles (a. 4) and John (a. 2).4 In 1870 the family remained intact at Eliot.5 William was a widower in 1880.6

       Alfred Langdon/8k Brooks was born in May 1843 (1900 census) at Eliot, ME.2,3 There recorded (a. 7, attended school) in his parents' household at Eliot in 1850.1 There again recorded in 1860 (a. 18, brickmaker, attended school).4 He married, circa 1865, Ann (Annie) Augusta Lewis of Eliot, daughter of William Lewis and Jane Spinney, with whom he had 11 children.3
     He was farming at Eliot, 1872 and 1878, but removed to Newington, NH by 1879.5 There the 1880 census recorded their Newington household as Alfred (a. 38, farmer), wife Annie (a. 33), and children Wilmer (a. 14, farm laborer), Irving (a. 13, farm laborer), Alfred (a. 11, attending school), Victor (a. 8), Bernice (a. 5), Arthur (a. 3), and Annie (a. 6 mos., b. NH).6
     In the 10 Nov 1899 marriage record of their son Victor, she is mentioned as Annie A. Lewis, res. Newington, while Alfred was perhaps working in Eliot, as he was given as a resident there.7 The marriage record of their son Arthur, 11 Jan 1900, reported Alfred as a laborer at Portsmouth, NH.8 That year's census reported the household at Newington, consisting of Alfred (a. 57, farm owner), Annie A. (a. 52, married 34 yrs., 8 of 11 children living), and children Nellie F. (a. 18), Leroy H. (a. 12, student), and Essie R. (a. 8, student).3
     Alfred was killed accidentally 7 Dec 1902, at the Kittery, ME naval shipyard, "age 61-6-15," by the fall of a heavy timber on his head.2 Annie died 10 Feb 1912 at age 64.9

       Clara Frances/8k Brooks was born 14 Dec 1843 (g.s.) in Maine.1 There recorded (as son Francis, 6, attending school) in her parents' household at Eliot in the 1850 census.1 There again recorded in 1860 (as Clara F., a. 16, seamstress, attending school).2 She married Elijah Varney, who died in 1913.3 She died 8 Jan 1905 (g.s.) at age 61.3 They are buried in Eliot.3
