       Nathaniel/6k Brooks Jr. was born in Maine circa 1833.2 There recorded (a. 17) in his parents' household at York in the 1850 census.2 He married, 4 Oct 1855 at Alfred, ME, Martha A. Littlefield.1,3 The 1860 census recorded Nathaniel (a. 27, seaman, real estate $700, personal estate $100), Martha A. (a. 26), and sons George (a. 3) and William (a. 2) in their household at Wells.4 He was a soldier in Co. I, 8th Maine Infantry, during the Civil War (g.s.).1 His wife died 11 Feb 1911 (g.s.).1 They are buried with his parents in Locust Grove Cemetery, Ogunquit, ME. Nathaniel's stone bears no dates.1
