Owing to the scarcity of specie, on 13 May 1640, the General Court of Massachusetts Bay named a committee of three men in each township "for valuing horses, mares, cowes, oxen, goats, & hoggs." Many towns paid their taxes that year in such property. The committees were instructed by the court to "valewe them under their worth rather than above their worth." Ezechi: Richrdson was one of the three appraisers chosen for Dedham.12
"Will, 20 (5) 1647, pro. 1 (4) 1648, devises legacies to Josiah, James and Phebe; mentions brothers Thomas and Samuel; son Theophilus and wife exrs. Inventory: £183."7 He died at Woburn, 21 Oct 1647.13,1 His widow married (2) Henry/1w Brooks of Woburn.4,1
"He was one of the three brothers Richardson, prominent in the first settlement of Woburn." His brother, Samuel Richardson, in a deed dated 27 Mar 1651, mentions my brother Ezekiel Richardson, our brother Thomas Richardson, and my sister, Susanna Brooks (who was wife of my deceased brother, Ezekiel Richardson).14' Wyman abstracts his extensive real estate dealings at 2:810.7
