       Timothy/4a Brooks was born 30 Aug 1711 in that part of Concord, MA which was set off to Acton in 1735.1 Received a bequest in the will of his uncle Timothy Brooks, 19 Mar 1757.2 He married, 12 Jan 1758 at Brookfield (int. 17 Dec, Acton), Mary Gilbert of Brookfield.3,4 He died at Acton 11 May 1783 at age 71.5,2 "He was survived by his wife Mary and only daughter Lydia, who was wife of Simon Hunt, Jr., both named in his will."2 Buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Acton.5,6

       Daniel/3 Belden married, 10 Nov 1670 at Hatfield, MA, Elizabeth Foote.1 By 1675 he had a lot 16 rods wide on the highway to the river.2 In the town's second division, he had lot no. 29, width 12 rods, 9 ft., 6 in.3 Chosen to warn (town) meetings, 1678.4 At Hatfield he acquired as a neighbor, after Philip's War, William Bartholomew, who in 1685 sold him half his twenty cow commons and two-thirds of his house lot at Deerfield, whence Daniel removed.5 His wife and 3 of their children were "slain by the enimiee Sept. 16, 1696" at Deerfield. Daniel was taken captive and marched to Canada, from whence he was subsequently ransomed.6 He married (2) Sarah Hawks, daughter of John Hawks, and widow of Philip/1 Mattoon of Deerfield.7 19 Dec 1698 at Hatfield, "a contribution was made for Daniel Belden and Martin Smith, who had been reduced to straits by their captivity in Canada after the attack on Deerfield in 1696."8 He is probably the D.B., "head of family," who died at Deerfield 14 Aug 1732.9

       John/3 Burt was born 23 Aug 1670 at Springfield, MA.2,1 Of the section of Springfield which later became Longmeadow, he married, as her 1st husband, 23 Dec 1697 at Springfield, Mary/3 Lombard of S., daughter of David/2 Lombard and Margaret/2 Filley.3 He was "killed by his horse in a sleigh," 24 Feb 1704, at age 33.4 His widow married (2), 4 Dec 1708, Deliverance/2s Brooks.5,6

Zebediah Williams

       Zebediah Williams married, as her 1st husband, Mary Miller.1 He died in Sep 1675 at "Bloody Brook," near Deerfield, MA, when a force of 80 soldiers and 18 teamsters under Captain Thomas Lothrop, sent to gather the English corn harvest at Hadley, was ambushed by a much larger force of Pocumtuck Indians.2,3 His son Zebediah Jr., and daughter Mary and her husband, Nathaniel Brooks, were taken in the raid on an unknown place , 29 Feb 1703/4, and embarked on the forced march of captives to Canada which followed. Mary was killed enroute; Zebediah Jr. survived the march but died in Canada in captivity. Nathaniel Brooks survived to be ransomed and return to Deerfield.4
